Sam (Samantha) is about 2 or 3 yrs old, 25 lbs Afghan Hound Mix/Poodle Mix (We are uncertain of breed), Spayed and UTD on all vaccinations.
Sam has endured extensive neglect/cruelty on the hands of a hoarder since her puppyhood. She was kept in a very small crate, in awful conditions, and came to Krewe with a long list of health issues associated with living in filth. She has been in treatment/ rehabilitation for over a month now and is just about to be fully released by her vet! Because she was probably crated her whole life her front legs are slightly bowed although that does not stop Sam from enjoying her newly-found freedom!
Despite all, Sam displays wonderful social skills with other dogs, as well as with humans, enjoys running and playing and laying on the grass and soaking up the sun. She is loving, sweet and playful and brings much joy to her foster mom.
Because Sam was kept crated her whole life, she is not fully potty or house trained yet and is just now learning house rules, as we waited for her health to improve before allowing her free time and beginning her training.
Sam will make a wonderful companion. She shows her gratefulness every day by giving her foster mom loves of kisses and affection and we expect Sam to make a full recovery. She will do incredibly well in a family with kids and other dogs, but Sam will thrive as long as she has the love and affection of a human she can trust!
