This is a story of perserverence in the rescue world! This dog is King. He is approximately three years old and weighs about 80 pounds. He had been exiled to a backyard his whole life, with that thick Shepherd coat. His situation deeply affected a concerned citizen, and she began to feed him over a fence. This went on for over a year. Not long ago, he started jumping the fence, probably to find some human contact and food, so the owner started tying him up around the clock with a short leash! He could only take a few steps in any direction, and he had no shelter. The owners allowed us to neuter him. King spent a week at our vet in the A/C, and was completely vetted. Yes, he has heartworms. We asked the owners to surrender him, and they did!! After a year of living in hellish conditions, King is now in a loving foster home!! No more unbearable heat. No more six foot tie-out around the clock, and plenty of food and love is available! Look how happy he is!! King’s adoption fee is $150 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter and a microchip.
