Brutus, also known as Pluto, is a very sweet, handi—capable pup on a mission to find a family to call his own. In 2020, he was found at about 4 months old in very rough shape. He was rescued by a very awesome human while being abused on the street. At just a few months he was already missing an eye, had multiple fractures, but was so resilient and full of love. He was quickly adopted.
We don’t have much info about his first few years, but he didn’t stay with his first family forever like he hoped. After 2 years with his new family, he was surrendered when his adoptive mom moved and couldnt take him with her.
Based off X-rays and doctor opinions, Brutus definitely had some significant trauma as a puppy. He doesn’t let a little brain damage hold him back though! Sometimes, he can run an obstacle course while other times he has trouble keeping his back legs under him due to a lack of fine motor skills. He can do all the things normal dogs do, but they look a little different sometimes.
Brutus has been to quite a few dog parks and on play dates- he does very well with most dogs and cats. (He has 3 foster dog siblings and 1 foster cat brother). He does not have an aggressive bone in his body, but has a puppy mentality and doesn’t understand that he weighs over 50 pounds.
Brutus said he LOVES a good game of fetch and also can’t get enough of squeaker toys and peanut butter. When he hears a squeak or high pitched noise, he wants everything to do with it. This is awesome for play time but can be a little intimidating to small children who squeal or scream when excited.
He is a cuddle bug and loves to follow his humans around. If you want a pup that doubles as a shadow, he may be the perfect fit for you! Please complete our application below.
